It is one of Scotland's most controversial murder cases: a case involving politics, drugs, hitmen and a deadly gangland feud. William Gage is serving 20 years for the calculated execution of big-time drug dealer Justin McAlroy, a donor to Jack McConnell's local Labour Party. Samantha Poling reveals evidence which casts doubt on the safety of William Gage's conviction and examines the reliability of a centuries-old pillar of Scots law which has been challenged in the courts for the first time.
"It is agony having to wait. I feel like I have been buried alive and that no matter how hard I scream for help the authorities don't seem to care.' William Gage

Mr Bill Gage

Sadly this morning, 12th January 2010, Wullie's dad, Bill Gage passed away.

Bill had suffered from cancer for a time and he had hoped to live long enough to see Wullie walk free from the court of appeal.

Sadly this was not to be.

Although he lived long enough to know that Wullie has a lot of support and also was referred to the court of appeal by the SCCRC.

Wullie did get a final visit with his dad yesterday which is a blessing too.

At least he did get the chance to say goodbye to his dad.

May Bill now rest in peace.

Wullie has a bail hearing tomorrow at the High Court in Edinburgh. If anyone can attend the court to show support then please do so.

It is exceptionally hard on a person when they are fighting for justice and their freedom when something like this happens. Its yet another injustice heaped upon injustice.

Our thoughts are with Wullie and his family at this sad time.
